Great Days Golf would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mike ‘Captain Pirate’ Jones, who is officially retiring from his role with the company.
Mike has been with Great Days Golf from the very beginning in 2019, playing a key role in the growth of the business and bringing his unmatched enthusiasm, passion for golf, and incredible energy to every event. Whether it was helping to organise tournaments, welcoming players, or leading the charge in raising money for numerous charities, Mike has been a true driving force behind everything GDG has achieved.
"Working with Great Days Golf these last few years has been a revelation. I have had the pleasure of meeting some incredible people and this would not have happened if Simon & Sean had not brought me into the business. I can’t thank them enough for the opportunity to help grow GDG from humble beginnings to where it is now. The GDG Team will I’m sure take the business to where it deserves to be and continue to provide fantastic opportunities for businesses across S.Wales and beyond. Hopefully I will see many of you on the golf course. All the very best!" Mike “Captain Pirate” Jones
Beyond his contributions to the events themselves, Mike’s dedication to giving back has left a lasting impact, most notably through the Great Days Golf Inclusion Academy. His passion for making the game more accessible led to the creation of this initiative, which will continue to provide opportunities for young people to get involved in golf, ensuring his legacy within GDG continues for years to come.
While Mike is stepping away from his role, we know his love for golf won’t be slowing down anytime soon, and we look forward to seeing him out on the course.
Thank you for everything, Captain Pirate—you’ve more than earned your retirement!
