GDG’s Flagship Event A ‘Major’ Success

Written on 05/04/2023

The Great Days Golf Masters Finale event held at St Pierre in April proved to be a huge success, a repeat of last year’s equally impressive occasion.

The event, held to coincide with the final round of the US Masters major event in Augusta is a popular event with GDG’s Premium Partners and there were many returning clients from last year such was the feedback of the two day extravaganza.

Day One comprised of a Pairs and Individual competition on the Old Course at St Pierre with prizes supplied by GDG’s equipment partner Srixon Europe. The Headline Sponsor for this event was Premium Partner David Spear Commercial Vehicles who provided goody bag contents for all clients as well as additional prizes and auction items. The event’s charitable Partner for this event was the ABF Soldiers Charity. Pete Davies from the Charity was in attendance: -

“I have built a close relationship with the guys at Great Days Golf and it’s extremely gracious of them to attach our charity to this event for the second year running. Everyone I have spoken to has had a fantastic time and we all can’t wait for next year’s event already!”

Geraint Yeo, Director at David Spears Commercial Vehicles said “What a brilliant event. We are proud to be Premium Partners of Great Days Golf and this event has seen us build strong relationships with many clients and given us as a company some great exposure. To play with and be around some top end celebrities too was the icing on the cake”.

Following the golf on Day One and the prize giving golfers and guests were entertained by GDG Director Jonathan Davies and GDG Australasian Ambassador and former All Black legend Justin Marshall, all hosted by Sean Holley. Following a superb 3 course meal the crowd was then entertained by one of Wales’ finest comedians Rod Woodward before being wooed by former X Factor star and singer James Williams. If that wasn’t enough, the completion of the final round of the Masters, won by John Rahm, was on show on the huge St Pierre screen in the Main Hall.

Returning client Alun Smith commented “We had 8 golfers here for these two days and we have all had such a brilliant time. The golf has been great and the entertainment second to none. It’s ridiculous value really by GDG and we’ll be back next year for sure”

Day Two was an Individual competition again on the Old Course, with some golfers playing with sore heads following an entertaining evening the night before. Still, there was some excellent golf played.
